Whitney has been in private practice since 1987, 14 of those years with the same Kansas City firm, and then establishing his own practice in 2001. His educational background includes a bachelor degree in Business Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University, with Magna cum laude honors. He graduated Suma cum laude at the Washburn University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. Today, Don is rated "BV" by Martindale-Hubbell. Don, a devoted husband and father, with five children ranging from twelve to 23 years of age, is also active the community. He serves as Chairman of the Olathe Board of Zoning Appeals. He also helped found, and volunteers for, the Second Mile Friends Compassionate Ministries program at College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas. He serves as President of the MidAmerica Nazarene Univerty chapter of the Phi Delta Lambda honor society. A pilot, he is a Major in the Civil Air Patrol U.S. Air Force Auxilary, and also serves as Legal Officer for his local squadron. He also serves as a mentor for the Olathe Youth Court program. Past community service has also included serving as President of the Phi Delta Lambda Honor Society for MidAmerica Nazarene University, coaching soccer for a number of years, serving as Vice-President of the Kansas Pilots Association and President of the Spearhead Chapter of the Kansas Pilots Associationon, and serving on the Site Council for a local Olathe elementary school.
